When it comes to metallic hardcore, Incendiary’s Thousand Mile Stare is one of the finest of its kind – taking cues from, to my ears at least, Bane, Inside Out, Earth Crisis, and Vision of Disorder. Though honestly often better than the majority of these bands’ collective output. Every song here is a winner. It’s difficult to describe what makes releases from a generally boilerplate genre stand out so intently, but every so often one stumbles across a serious winner where every song is a gem. That is positively transcendent of the scene in which they are a part. This is it. It’s loud, angry, aggressive. It’s consistent. It does their East Coast Hardcore heritage proud.

Fuck. I want to go for a run, or punch a co-worker… even though I like them!

Highlights: “Hanging From the Family Tree” for being one of the coolest song titles ever. “The Product is You” for having a legitimately Metal moment. The vocalist yelling ‘stay up!’ on “Poison.” Funny in a good way. Like the barking on that Knocked Loose track. That intro to “No Purity”… Really though, the album is 27 minutes. The album itself is the highlight.
